Did you know that the guardhouse at the first entrance had to be removed when it was first built because it had not been approved by Shelby County Planning and Zoning? It was built during the winter of 1988/89 by the golf course maintenance crew. A foundation was poured, the structure was built in the maintenance building, and was taken out on a trailer and placed. A guy named ‘Rock Man’ was hired to come place the rock on it. Upon completion, Lawren got a call from Planning and Zoning saying ‘take it down’. She explained it wasn’t going to be an actual guard house that it was just to add ambiance to the entrance. The response was ‘Mrs Just, I have no record of a building permit for that structure.’ Lawren said she didn’t realize she needed one and would be happy to drive down and get it and pay a fine or penalty. She said ‘From the looks of your master plan, you’ll be working with us for years to come. I suggest you take it down.’
So Lawren went back to Rock Man who took the rock off, they unbolted the structure and put it on the trailer and took it back to the maintenance building. Lawren went back to Planning & Zoning and asked if she could obtain a building permit for a structure a tour entrance. She said ‘Of course Mrs. Just. That will be $15.00 please.” So the“guardhouse” was put back in place and the rest is history! It does provide nice ambiance at the first entrance.
Persimmon Ridge Pool - One More Splash!
Courtesy of Bluegrass Pool Management, they are offering "One More Splash" at thePR pool on Saturday, September 6th.
The regular pool season ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. But, as a THANK YOU to the community, they want to add one more day for all residents to enjoy the pool.
The pool will be open for your enjoyment on Saturday, September 6, normal Saturday hours, 11:00am-9:00pm. Mark your calendars now for one more day of fun in the sun.
Thank you Bluegrass Pool Management!!
Exit buttons have been installed for the pool and playground. Please do not prop open the gate to either. We ask that everyone scan their key fob when entering either area to help us track usage. Scanning in and out are listed in the pool rules and everyone agreed to them when they signed the form to obtain your key fobs.
The button for the pool exit is on the pool house building wall on the right when exiting the pool area. The playground button is on the fence to the left when exiting the playground area.

**Please Note: If you have an older mailbox the new mailbox does not fit the older posts; however, several handy residents were able to find a workaround that does require drilling.

Landscape Update
What a crazy spring and summer! First, we had above normal rainfall this spring and then we had extremely high temperatures in June! I think August is finally back to normal (we shall see).
Our landscape flowers had some challenges with all the crazy weather but they seem to be looking better. Next year we want to look at some different plants to hopefully tolerate the extremes better.
We also were able to get Shelby county to repair several curbs around islands that had deteriorated.
We would like to ask all residents if they see an area that needs attention to reach out to Melinda at Cornerstone and let her know! Some of the areas that the HOA owns aren’t always obvious to our landscape company and we would LOVE the community's help in keeping Persimmon Ridge beautiful.
Thanks in advance for your help in keeping Persimmon Ridge beautiful!
Thank you from the Landscape Committee!

She is working with Traci Omlor to bring back outdoor movie night from 2020. Hoping to show a double feature of:
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (25 mins) and Hocus Pocus
Still looking for portable fire pits to keep everyone warm if it’s cool and to roast marshmallows for s’mores.
Volunteers needed:
We will still have door to door or end of driveway trick or treating on Halloween night.
The HOA has received several complaints about underaged children driving golf carts on the streets, going too fast, and not abiding by the stop signs. This can be very dangerous, so please be cognizant that Shelby County traffic laws do apply to our roads.
The PR Board conducts bi-monthly meetings. The next meeting is scheduled forTuesday, November 12 at 6:00pm. There is always an opportunity for residents to attend the open session at the beginning of the meeting to discuss whatever topic anyone wants to bring to the board's attention. In order to get on the agenda for the next meeting, please contact Cornerstone at melinda@contactcornerstone.com.
Please make sure if you are planning any change to the exterior of your home to fill out the Architectural Review Form that can be found on Cornerstone’s website (examples include a fence, playground set, fire pit, deck, dumpster etc). This includes if you will have a dumpster on site for any project for any amount of time.
Once Melinda receives your application, the process usually only takes a few days to complete. She works closely with all applicants to ensure the Architectural ReviewCommittee (ARC) has what they need to evaluate your project for a successful result.
